STEPHEN CLAYTON
Born in Tallahassee, Florida and raised in Keene, New Hampshire, Stephen Clayton has been the professional at the Rockport Golf Club since 1990.
Steve attended public school and graduated from Keene High School in 1978 and attended Keene State College. In 1982, with an interest in the golf business, Steve enrolled in the PGA Apprentice Program. Working as Assistant Golf Professional at the Keene Country Club, Oceanside Country Club in Ormond Beach, Florida and Haverhill Country Club in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Steve earned membership in the Professional Golfers Association in June of 1987. Helping people enjoy the game of golf is a rewarding experience for him.
Steve lives in Gloucester with his wife Valerie. They have two children, Ryan and his wife Danielle, and Leslie and her husband James Psychoghios, and two granddaughters, Corynn and Sophia and grandson Peter

Bill Yanakakis
Bill resides in Ipswich with his wife, Paula. He has three grown children Chris, Alex, and Ben. Bill joined Rockport Golf Club as head greens superintendent in 2004. Previously he spent 14 years at New Meadows running the maintenance operation there. His start in the business was assistant superintendent at Cohasset Golf Club. In January of 2019, Bill celebrated his 25th year as a member of the Golf Course Superintendents association of New England. He is a seasoned and talented superintendent who has made many improvements to the course over the years, and always keeps it in top condition. His son Chris is following in his father’s footsteps and serves as Bill’s assistant.
ASSISTANT PROFESSIONAL
Jamie ethier
Raised in Lunenburg, Massachusetts, Jamie Ethier learned the game of golf on a nine-hole course where he developed both his skills and a lasting appreciation for the game.
Jamie attended public school and went on to build a career in golf through professional training and hands-on experience. He graduated from the PGA Professional Golf Management Program in 2004 and has continued his education through PGA seminars and coaching programs. Over the course of more than 20 years in the game, Jamie has worked in instruction and player development, including serving as Director of Instruction at Golf Galaxy in Burlington, Massachusetts, and Assistant Director of Instruction at Stow Acres Golf School.
In 2024 and 2025, Jamie served as Assistant Golf Professional at Haverhill Country Club in Haverhill, Massachusetts, where he earned membership in the Professional Golfers’ Association, becoming the first PGA member assistant professional at Rockport Golf Club in more than 30 years. He enjoys helping players of all levels improve their game and build confidence on the course.
Jamie lives on the North Shore with his fiancée, Tina.
